Move any furniture or personal items out of the room with the damage if possible, or use plastic tarps or garbage bags to cover anything that you can’t move. It is also a good idea to check each room in your house for leaks to see if there are multiple damage points. Most importantly, if it is not safe to remain in your home, find a safe place to wait for help and never try to access your roof to check for damage!
